The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Golf Course Named Among Top 50 Private Practice Ranges
Sunset, S.C. – The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at The Reserve at Lake Keowee was recently honored as one of the Top 50 Private Practice Ranges in the country by Golf Range Association of America (GRAA). The 2012 GRAA Awards recognizes the top 50 driving ranges in four categories: teaching professionals, stand-alone facilities, public facilities, and private facilities. Along with a feature in the January 2013 issue of Golf Range Magazine, The Reserve at Lake Keowee will be recognized on GolfRange.org and receive an award at the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL.
Woven into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and along the shore of Lake Keowee, The Reserve’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course boasts unique mountain-lake views with challenging play for every type of golfer. As scenic as it is practical, the course also features over-sized practice facilities with a mobile weather and shade canopy, short game area, and putting green; five sets of tees; and the Orchard House clubhouse in the heart of the community’s Village. Jim Duncan, Vice President of Rules and Competitions for Web.com Tour, reviewed the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in 2012, and said "[the facility] is certainly one of the best I have seen".
"Our Membership prides itself on the condition of our course and practice facility, and our maintenance team works hard year-round to make sure they have the best playing surfaces possible,” comments Frank Santoro, Club Manager for The Reserve. “Being named one of the Top 50 Practice Ranges is an honor, and a validation of our commitment to excellence at The Reserve."
“We’re very fortunate that the design and size of our range enables us to move members around to various locations, providing excellent conditions year-round,” says Sam Crowe, Head of Maintenance for The Reserve.
In September 2012, The Reserve’s 7,112 yard golf course was added to the golf course rotation for the 2013 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. In addition, The Reserve course hosts a variety of private and public golf events throughout the year, and is open for year-round play.
