Ambulance manufacturer to display its custom ambulances at convention 

INDIANAPOLIS — Road Rescue Emergency Vehicles is riding on good news as
the ambulance manufacturer heads to the FDIC International 2016 on April 18-23
at the Indiana Center in Indianapolis. An industry-leading ambulance manufacturer of REV Group, Inc., Road Rescue completed seven new 2016 Freightliner M2 Ultramedic Ambulances for Chesterfield Fire & EMS, located in central Virginia.

Road Rescue will display one of the Chesterfield units during FDIC at Booth 5300.
The 40-year-old manufacturer will share 20,000 square feet of space with its sister
REV Group ambulance brands (Wheeled Coach, Horton Emergency Vehicles, America Emergency Vehicles and McCoy Miller Emergency Vehicles), as well as E-ONE, a REV fire truck manufacturer.

Building vehicles that are “In Service for Life,” Road Rescue is committed to the lives it serves, delivering custom vehicles that answer the needs of its customers. At Road Rescue, there is no such thing as “manufactured ambulances” because the company builds on the unique requirements of each client. Chesterfield’s newest fleet was customized with a set of exacting specifications, including:

  • An M-Series LED exterior lighting package and Whelen interior dome lights

  • A high-capacity exterior Cool-Bar A/C condenser with overhead ducts 

  • Angled upper cabinets for headroom clearance and a R.O.M roll-up door on lower ALS cabinets

  • A Weldon V-Mux display mounted into the dash, complete with joystick controller, module touch screen, carbon fiber bezel and USB charging port

  • Pull-out drawers, both forward facing and rear facing

  • A curbside bench area for easy access

    These new advance life support units will help Chesterfield Fire & EMS, which
    serves a growing population in Chesterfield County of more than 328,000 residents covering 445 square miles of rural, suburban and urban areas. Chesterfield responds to more than 29,000 emergency calls a year and uses a combination career/volunteer system consisting of approximately 485 career firefighters and 471 active volunteers.
