Rezidor announces 2nd hotel for Sandton, Johannesburg

The Rezidor Hotel Group announces its second hotel for Sandton, Johannesburg complementing the Radisson Hotel Sandton which is due to open in late 2008: The Park Inn Sandton featuring 192 rooms will welcome its first guests in April 2010.

“South Africa is an upcoming destination for business and leisure travellers”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group. “The government has prioritised tourism as a key economic sector, and international arrivals increase continuously – we are expecting new heights in 2010 when the country hosts the FIFA World Cup.”

The Park Inn Sandton will be situated directly across the road from the Gautrain Sandton Station, and will have the benefit of being the closest hotel to the underground station which will link commuters on South Africa’s first underground railway system directly to the OR Tambo International Airport, Rosebank and Pretoria CBD’s. The JSE (Johannesburg Stock Exchange), multinationals and Convention Centre are located within 1 kilometer, and the property is only a few hundred meters from some of the best shopping Meccas in the world, Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square.
