Rezidor contracts four new Park Inn hotels in the UK

The Rezidor Hotel Group has contracted four new Park Inn hotels in the UK – the Park Inns Edinburgh Airport, Peterborough City Centre, Grimsby, and Rotherham. Rezidor’s portfolio in the UK and Ireland now features more than 50 hotels in operation or under development.

“This key milestone underlines the importance of our fastest growing brand Park Inn and reflects the developments we have made in this region”, says Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group. The openings of the four new properties are scheduled for 2008 and 2009 by which time Rezidor will have added 20,000 rooms to its portfolio.

Park Inn is the young, fresh and dynamic mid-market brand of The Rezidor Hotel Group. It prides itself on delivering a great affordable hotel experience within its class by “mastering the essentials”. The brand provides efficient, uncomplicated service which results in a hassle-free visit. Its rooms are functional, comfortable, practical and well maintained. EMEA-wide, Rezidor currently has 75 Park Inn hotels in operation or under development.

The 160-bedroom new build Park Inn Edinburgh Airport will be located within the airport boundaries on the main approach road, about five kilometres away from the terminal. Edinburgh Airport is Scotland’s main airport with more than 50 airlines serving 85 destinations and eight million passengers per year.
The Park Inn Peterborough City Centre will be located next to the Queensgate shopping mall. Currently an office complex, work will begin to convert the building into a 115 bedroom hotel within the next three months.
The 120-bedroom Park Inn Grimsby will be built at the end of the M180 motorway, on the edge of the town centre. Grimsby is a famous old fishing port located on the mouth of the River Humber.
The Park Inn Rotherham will be constructed on the town’s ring road on a site which will also include luxury apartments, a golf course, a leisure/spa complex, a medical centre and up-market offices. The new hotel will have 130 bedrooms.
