The Rezidor Hotel Group has signed the contract for The Regent Emirates Pearl in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. Scheduled to open in 2010, the hotel will offer 365 rooms and 70 furnished apartments and bring a new era of contemporary style and personalised service to the emirate – being a coastal landmark on the South West of the city’s signature Corniche.

“Abu Dhabi is a welcome addition to our expanding UAE portfolio”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group. “Tourism in Abu Dhabi is currently undergoing a major transformation and will soon become one of the region’s top business and leisure destinations. It’s important that Rezidor is part of this development.”

The Regent’s 47-storey silhouette of twisting glass is designed by Austria’s award-winning architect Dennis Lems. The modern interior is conceptualised by MKV Design LTD of London and inspired by the rich heritage of Abu Dhabi. Guests will benefit from an exclusive beach club with private beach access, an indoor and outdoor pool, a health club and a spa. Besides several restaurants and bars, the hotel will comprise extensive banquet and meeting facilities.
The complex is owned by the Atlas Group (UAE), and is a joint venture project with the Tourism Development & Investment Company, the company charged with leveraging the tourism assets of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
