Henton and Chattell, one of the largest garden machinery distributors in the UK, has invested £40k to strengthen its supply chain.

Nottingham-based Henton and Chattell, established over 70 years ago, employs almost 70 staff and supply a mix of more than 1500 large and independent retailers nationwide. The company boasts brand names, such as Flymo and John Deere, as suppliers.

As part of its commitment as a leading supplier, Henton and Chattell has bought a new Renault Midlum flatbed truck with beaver tail from East Midlands Renault Trucks distributor RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV), it is the only truck at the company which uses its fleet of eight vans for deliveries.

Wayne Hallam, Service Manager at Henton and Chattell, commented on the new addition to the fleet, “From our 80,000 square feet of warehouse in Nottingham, the Logistics Team are able to despatch, on demand, any product, to any destination, countrywide, in most cases the ‘next day’ and having trucks we can rely on is a massive part of our service.”

Simon Bailey, Sales Manager at RHCV, comments “We’re thrilled to be working with Henton and Chattell, a leading supplier in their field. They initially approached us but we were in competition with another dealer but the quality of Renault Trucks and our aftersales care shone through.”

Henton and Chattell purchased the truck from RHCV’s Nottingham base. RHCV has sites in Nottingham and Leicestershire and 12 months ago purchased Alfreton-based Cotes Park Commercials to be its Derbyshire hub as part of its strategic expansion across the East Midlands.

RHCV is an authorised selling agent for Renault Trucks and provides new and used sales, service and parts for the full Renault Trucks range as well as all-makes parts and servicing for commercial vehicles.  It offers a full range of sales and aftermarket services including parts sales, dedicated paint shop and a designated MOT bay.
