Rhea Lana’s of West Chicagoland – Illinois’s Premier Children’s Consignment Event  Gives Recession-Weary Families Opportunity to Buy, Sell, Children’s Clothing, Toys and Furniture in One Location – Thousands of Items Will Be Sold – CareNet and Family Shelter Services Will Benefit

Villa Park, IL - March 2, 2011 – Rhea Lana’s of West Chicagoland (Rhea Lana’s Children’s Consignment Inc. www.RheaLana.com), opens the doors to its second children’s consignment event in Villa Park at The Odeum, 1033 N. Villa Ave.  The Spring event is being held Friday, April 15, through Sunday, April 17.

“Rhea Lana’s is a community event which helps families stretch their budget by allowing them to purchase high quality children’s items at a fraction of their retail cost,” said Christine DeGraf, Co-Owner of Rhea Lana’s of West Chicagoland. “Our specialty is name brand and boutique brand children’s clothing. Children’s furniture, toys and baby equipment are also top sellers. In order to provide a quality shopping experience for families, we are also very particular about the items we accept.”

Admission and Parking are Free.

The West Chicagoland Event began in the Fall of 2010. “Our events offer one-stop shopping and great merchandise for bargain-conscious moms, grandmoms and moms-to-be,” said DeGraf “We have hundreds of consignors and shoppers who will find incredible deals for their families at the same time they are saving money.”

Consignors Win

Consignors participating in Rhea Lana’s Children’s Consignment events reap a number of benefits from the company’s unique approach.

Consignors can:

  • Select the price of each item they choose to sell in the event.
  • Choose whether they want to sell items for half price on the final days of the sale.
  • Track their sales in real time online or on their smartphone because of the innovative bar-coding system developed by the company.
  • Earn 70%-80% of the sale price and be paid the same week the item is sold.
  • Relax knowing their items are guaranteed against loss.

Shoppers Win

Shoppers visiting Rhea Lana’s Children’s Consignment events benefit from a huge selection of high-quality, gently used children’s merchandise including:

  • Spring/Summer name brand and boutique children’s, teen and maternity clothing items.
  • Great buys on children’s furniture.
  • A selection of nursery bedding, maternity clothing, nursing accessories, infant equipment (such as strollers, high chairs, car seats and portable cribs), as well as toys, children's books, video games and sports accessories.
  • Unique Vendors as well as goody bags that will be distributed to the first 250 shoppers.

Needy Families Win

“One of the most fulfilling things we do after each event is to donate thousands of lovely children’s items to nonprofit organizations who give them directly to families in need,” explained DeGraf.  “This season we are honored to be partnering with CareNet (Bridges program through the Oak Brook Community Church).  The Bridges program is a free program by CareNet for women and men seeking support during pregnancy and the early parenting years and Family Shelter Service which provides various shelters for abused women and children throughout West Chicagoland.

“We feel blessed to be able to provide this service to families in the West Chicagoland area,” said DeGraf. “Not only are we giving families a chance to de-clutter closets and earn money for their gently used items, we are also giving parent volunteers an opportunity to connect and network with other moms and dads in their area.”
