RICHARD MILLE CREATES THE OFFICIAL BRACELET FOR THE “BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP” TOURNAMENT 2014
The “Big One For ONE DROP” tournament organized by the World Series of Poker will take place in Las Vegas from June 29th to July 1st at Caesars Palace, one of the most famous luxury hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. This tournament is the world’s most important and prestigious, and its one-million-dollar entry fee is the highest in the history of poker.
Partner of the first edition in 2012, Richard Mille awarded the trophy to the winner of the World Series of Poker. The well-known Iranian player, Antonio Esfandiari, won on that occasion a Richard Mille platinium bracelet and the largest cash prize in the history of poker at $18,346,673.
This tournament is therefore one of the most spectacular charitable initiatives. The profits from the tournament will go to the “One Drop” Foundation established by Guy Laliberté, creator of Cirque du Soleil®, which works to provide universal access to water.
The bracelet which will be given to the winner this year is inspired by the RM 033, an extra flat timepiece and a particular favorite of Richard Mille’s.
The case diameter of of this model is 45.7 mm while its thickness is only 6.30 mm. It is entirely made in white gold and fitted with grade 5 titanium lugs. A 0.77 Carat diamond has been cut to represent a drop of water and is supported between the anti-glare sapphire glass. It sits on the logo of ‘Big One For One Drop’ Foundation which is, naturally, a drop of water. The bracelet in platinium and titanium has been entirely wire-cut and its components, which have all been assembled, cambered and enamelled, have been polished by hand.
This unique and extraordinary piece has been developed by Mélanie Treton-Monceyron, the brand’s Artistic Director. Given the hard and brittle nature of platinum, it is extremely difficult to work with and takes no less than 200 hours to complete. This was a major challenge because the laser engraving of WSOP logo on the sapphire glass required the creation of a specific machine.
Richard Mille has always been a keen supporter of charitable causes like the YBAfraid Foundation of Yohan Blake, Free the Children of Natalie Portman or the Dragon’s Heart Foundation of Jackie Chan. Richard Mille will be delighted to award the winner the « BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP » 2014 bracelet as the proceeds of this tournament are of enormous importance to the Charity and of course to support his friend Guy Laliberté.

RICHARD MILLE OFFRIRA DE NOUVEAU LE BRACELET DU TOURNOI « BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP » 2014
Le « Big One For One Drop » des World Series of Poker 2014 se déroulera à Las Vegas du 29 juin au 1er juillet au Caesars Palace, le plus mythique des «hôtels casinos du Strip». Avec son droit d’entrée d’un million de dollars, ce tournoi reste inédit dans l’histoire du poker.
Partenaire de la première édition en 2012, la maison Richard Mille avait remis le trophée des World Series of Poker, un bracelet en platine emblématique des lignes des produits Richard Mille, au très grand joueur iranien Antonio Esfandiari qui remporta par la même occasion le plus gros gain de l’histoire du poker en s’adjugeant la première édition du Big One pour 18.346.673 $.
Mais ce tournoi est avant tout une extraordinaire oeuvre caritative puisque les bénéfices sont reversés à One Drop, la Fondation de Guy Laliberté, créateur du Cirque du Soleil® et ami de la marque, qui se bat pour l’accès à l’eau pour tous.
Le bracelet remis cette année au vainqueur reprend le dessin de celui de la montre extra-plate RM 033, modèle cher à Richard Mille.
Avec ses lignes pures et élégantes, le boîtier, d’un diamètre de 45.70 mm et d’une épaisseur de seulement 6.30 mm, est entièrement usiné dans de l’or gris à l’exception de ses cornes en titane grade 5. Cet écrin enserre en son coeur un diamant de 0.77 carats en forme de goutte d’eau. Sublimé par la délicate gravure reprenant le dessin du logo du « Big One For One Drop » qui l’encadre, ce diamant est maintenu par 2 verres saphir traités antireflets. Son bracelet, en platine et en titane, a été découpé au fil, cambré, emmaillé et brossé à la main.
Cette pièce unique et spectaculaire développée par Mélanie Treton-Monceyron, Directrice Artistique de la marque, a exigé plus de 200 heures de travail tant le platine, métal à la fois dur et fragile, est extrêmement difficile à travailler. Le défi était d’autant plus grand que la gravure laser du logo confectionné sur mesure pour le verre saphir du bracelet WSOP Richard Mille a nécessité la création d’une machine spécifique.
