The 7th Le Mans Classic will take place on July 4, 5 and 6. Richard Mille will once again be there as Main Partner and Official Timekeeper of the race. The Jura watchmaker has supported this competition since the first event in 2002.
This retrospective of the “24 Heures du Mans” is the chance for thousands of car enthusiasts to meet around the Bugatti track. Le Mans Classic revives more than 80 years of automobile sport history by bringing back the cars and the pilots who created the legend of the most famous race in the world on the great 13 kilometer Le Mans circuit.
As a tribute to this exceptional race, Richard Mille will introduce a limited edition watch, the RM 030 Le Mans Classic, the fourth piece to carry the name of the competition.
For this automatic winding caliber, Richard Mille developed a rotor that would prevent overwinding thanks to its capacity to automatically disconnect from the rotor’s winding mechanism when the spring is fully wound. Additionally, this new mechanism is linked to the power reserve indicator placed at 9 o’clock to provide an optimal winding control with the best ratio of constant torque/power. The RM 030 LMC also has a 24 hours display placed at 2 o’clock. The indication “16”references to the depart time of the endurance race, is a discrete homage to the event.
The RM 030 LMC displays the colors of the historic race inside of its movement as well as its white ATZ ceramic case and with the rubber of the NTPT® crown. This special edition will be a limited series of a 100 pieces.

RICHARD MILLE - LE MANS CLASSIC 2014
Les 4, 5 et 6 juillet prochain se déroulera la 7e édition du Mans Classic. Richard Mille sera présent, comme toujours, depuis la création de la course en 2002, en tant que Partenaire principal et chronométreur officiel.
Cette rétrospective des 24 heures du Mans est l’occasion pour des centaines de milliers de passionnés de se donner rendez vous autour du circuit Bugatti. Le Mans Classic fait revivre sur le grand circuit du Mans, long de 13 kilomètres, plus de quatre-vingts ans d’histoire du sport automobile en y accueillant les voitures et les pilotes qui ont écrit la légende de la plus célèbre course au monde.
En hommage à cette course d’exception, Richard Mille dévoilera une montre en édition limitée, la RM 030 Le Mans Classic, quatrième du nom.
Pour ce calibre à remontage automatique, Richard Mille a développé un rotor évitant tout remontage excessif par sa capacité de débrayer automatiquement et de se désolidariser ainsi du mécanisme de remontage lorsque le ressort est idéalement tendu. Ce système, relié au mécanisme d’indicateur de réserve de marche situé à 9 heures, offre donc un contrôle assurant le meilleur rapport constance/puissance. La RM 030 LMC possède également un affichage 24 heures placé à 2 heures. L’indication « 16 », allusion à l’heure de départ de la course d’endurance, est aussi un discret hommage à l’événement.
Habillée aux couleurs de l’épreuve historique dans son mouvement, la RM 030 LMC les reprend pour son boîtier en céramique ATZ blanche et pour le caoutchouc de la couronne en NTPT®. Cette édition spéciale fera l’objet d’une série limitée de 100 pièces.
