TOURBILLON RM 57-01 PHOENIX AND DRAGON - JACKIE CHAN
Richard Mille releases a jewelry creation in the form of a new tourbillon, the RM 57-01 Phoenix and Dragon-Jackie Chan.
The Phoenix, a supernatural bird, was commonly referred to as the ‘King of Birds’ embodying the five virtues of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and sincerity as well as being symbolic for the Empress. It was known never to harm either a single insect nor blade of grass, eating and drinking nothing but bamboo seeds and sweet spring water. The dragon has always appeared in a magical variety of forms; long or short bodied, small or gigantic in size. Its nature could be both secretive yet active, and it inhabited all areas of the universe from the heights above to the depths below. Since they were able to travel between the skies and earth, dragons were considered the mounts of heavenly deities. The Phoenix and Dragon are two of the ‘Four Supernatural Spirits’; therefore it is believed that seeing a Phoenix and Dragon together is symbolic for great fortuitousness and luck.
Created from 3N rose gold, these legendary figures inhabiting the interior of the movement are carved and incised entirely by hand. Special miniature tools needed to be made for the specific artistry required in the physical realization of these two creatures. To increase the realism of these special animals, a long and painstaking process of hand finished micro painting was executed, also including the unseen parts of these two marvelous entities.
The entire movement follows all the philosophies of Richard Mille with its baseplate of PVD treated titanium, double winding barrels and a power reserve of 48 hours, indicated by a red line between 10 and 11 o’clock. The movement is given extra protection by a torque-limiting crown to protect the watch from possible overwinding.
The RM 57-01 Phoenix and Dragon will be available in a strictly limited edition of 15 pieces in 18K white or red gold.

Richard Mille dévoile une création joaillière, son nouveau tourbillon, le RM 57-01 Phénix et Dragon- Jackie Chan.
Le phénix, oiseau mythologique, était fréquemment surnommé le « Roi des oiseaux », incarnant les cinq vertus de la bienveillance, l’intégrité, la moralité, la sagesse et l’honnêteté. Il était également le symbole de l’Impératrice. On racontait que cet oiseau ne blessait jamais aucun être, du moindre insecte au simple brin d’herbe, et se nourrissait exclusivement de graines de bambou, ne s’abreuvant que dans les sources d’eau douce. Le dragon, lui, est toujours apparu sous des formes magiques très variées, le corps long ou court, de petite taille ou gigantesque. Il pouvait être de nature à la fois mystérieuse et active, et vivait dans tout l’univers, des hauteurs vertigineuses aux profondeurs abyssales. Comme les dragons étaient capables de voyager entre les cieux et la terre, on racontait qu’ils étaient les montures des dieux. Le Phénix et le Dragon font partie des « Quatre Animaux Surnaturels » ; ainsi, voir un Phénix et un Dragon ensemble serait un symbole de bonne fortune et de chance.
Façonnés en or rose 3N, ces animaux légendaires vivant au coeur du mouvement sont entièrement gravés et incisés à la main. Des outils miniatures ont été créés spécialement pour répondre aux besoins artistiques de la réalisation de ces deux créatures. S’en est suivi un long et laborieux processus de micro-peinture, pour parfaire le réalisme de la gravure, même sur les parties invisibles des deux animaux fantastiques.
Le mouvement tout entier respecte la philosophie de Richard Mille, avec une platine en titane traité PVD, deux barillets et une réserve de marche de 48 heures, indiquée par une ligne rouge entre 10 et 11 heures. Le mouvement dispose d’une protection supplémentaire grâce à une couronne dynamométrique pour éviter une surtension lors du remontage.
La RM 57-01 Phénix et Dragon sera disponible en édition strictement limitée à 15 pièces, en or blanc ou rouge 18K.
