Political Satire from Mad Lips: Hilarious

Rome, Italy. December 19th- The iPhone app Mad Lips just rocketed to the #2 chart position in iTunes proving that Italians are still finding new ways to laugh in spite of the looming debt crisis. With all the talk of austerity and financial turmoil, humor still has a place in politics.

Mad Lips is a free app that brings still photos to life by superimposing talking lips on top of regular pictures. Users can make the pictures do or say anything and can make short animated video clips. Italians have been using Mad Lips to create political satire videos that have been going viral.

“Mad Lips is a great tool for satire,” said Sean Levin, founder of Affective Apps and the creator of Mad Lips. “We have seen plenty of Obama videos and now we’re starting to see comedy emerge from the Eurozone. Mad Lips gives everyone the power to hold politicians accountable for what they say.”

Mad Lips works in 2 ways. The first is that a user can directly record any video message and superimpose it over any picture. The second is that a user can capture any previously recorded video or speech from YouTube and superimpose that on top of a photo. Thanks to Mad Lips, there has been plenty of talking monkeys and donkeys reciting political speeches and promises.

All Mad Lips videos can be directly uploaded to Facebook and YouTube or they can be shared privately via email. Before reaching the #2 position on the iTunes Photo & Video chart in Italy, Mad Lips was showcased on the Top 10 Entertainment chart in Israel, the Top 10 Photo & Video in France and has been featured on Apple’s What’s Hot: United States, United Kingdom and Canada charts.
