New investment will increase production for overseas markets

Society Hill, S.C., May 17, 2011 – Henry Moree Sr. announced today that he and a group of investors are acquiring Riverside Pump Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of agriculture, construction and water pumps. These pumps have been handcrafted in America since 1928. The company was originally founded as the Homelite pump brand, which was later bought by John Deere. In 2002, John Deere sold the pump brand to Riverside Pumps.

“Riverside Pumps is an American icon and leader in quality in the pump industry,” said Henry Moree Sr. “Our investment will allow the company to expand production, keeping up with demand from the U.S. and international markets.”

Riverside Pumps, which produces several lines of agriculture pumps, has seen a large increase in demand from markets in South America and Europe to support their farming industries.

As part of the new company, Jerry B. Leach will continue in an administrative and sales role; Jay Leach will stay on in administration and manufacturing operations; and Tom Rountree will remain in sales and marketing. Adding to this talent will be the guidance of Henry “Hank” Moree Jr. of Society Hill and J. Richard Hicks of Atlanta.

Henry Moree Sr. brings considerable expertise to Riverside Pumps. He currently serves as president and CEO of PPM (Power Plant Maintenance), which is one of the world leaders in providing industrial mechanical, electrical and civil construction services for the fossil and nuclear power, pulp and paper, chemical, independent power producers, and general manufacturing industries.

“We have a very experienced management team, which we are keeping in place,” said Moree. “We appreciate the support of our dealers and distributors, and we will continue to work to exceed customer expectations in quality and service.”

Moree also announced that Riverside Pumps’ manufacturing jobs will remain in South Carolina.
