Mannheim (Germany), December 14, 2020 – With a new corporate headquarters, the RKW Group is continuing the process of strategic realignment begun in 2020. As of January 1, 2021, the internationally positioned film manufacturer will relocate its headquarters to the Green Business Park Mannheim. Business operations at the new location will start as early as December 14, 2020.

Based on a sustainable building and utilization concept, approximately 100 ultra-modern workplaces have been created. The building's open architecture and technical equipment enable agile, cross-functional collaboration across departmental boundaries. The focus is on customer orientation and maximum flexibility, with the right environment available for every task – from individual offices for concentrated focus work to team and conference rooms.

"The best of two worlds"

"Our new corporate headquarters is more than just a building. It represents a modern form of collaboration and cooperation within the RKW Group," says CEO Harald Biederbick. "Together with our customers and partners, we work on sustainable solutions that improve the daily lives of consumers around the world. To do this, we need an environment that encourages creative exchange and at the same time takes into account the individual needs of our colleagues," he continues. "The best of two worlds – that's what our new headquarters stands for.“

The RKW Group has moved into around 2,700 square meters of office space in the former "Taylor Barracks" – conveniently located at the Viernheim motorway junction and only 40 minutes from Frankfurt Airport. The concept combines conventional working methods with new forms of exchange and dialogue, similar to those used by start-ups. The new headquarters therefore has neither open-plan nor individual offices, but rather enables flexible, task-oriented work, also called "Activity-based Working in Multi-Space Offices".

18 production sites around the world

The new head office also serves as a model for the company's other locations worldwide – especially when it comes to new forms of collaboration. "Each of our 18 plants worldwide brings its own culture and history to the RKW Group," says Harald Biederbick. "Mannheim forms a connecting link and at the same time an important building block for our future success".

The RKW Group was founded in 1957 by Jakob Müller as "Rheinische Kunststoffwerke" in Worms and is still privately owned today. The company has more than 60 years of experience in the development and production of films for packaging, hygiene and agricultural applications. From 2008 to 2020 the headquarters was located in Frankenthal/Pfalz.
