Sustainability events at 19 locations worldwide

Gronau (Germany),  September 7, 2020 - "We take responsibility" - the motto of the RKW sustainability summer campaign also applies to the employees of the Gronau site. On the agenda on Friday, September 4, was a joint waste collection campaign around the site - an initiative that otherwise goes by the name of "Gronau dresses itself up" and in which several local Gronau companies are taking part in addition to associations and institutions.

Due to Corona, the campaign could not take place this year, but the Gronau team still wanted to collect garbage - what could be more natural to do this within the framework of the RKW sustainability initiative. Also in this case the collected garbage is weighed at the end and for each kilogram a sum of money for a non-profit organization is donated. In Gronau, 265 kg were collected, and more than 40 colleagues from two shifts took part in the campaign.

All in all, more than a dozen campaigns took place worldwide as part of the RKW summer sustainability campaign. The spectrum ranged from the establishment of a meadow orchard to energy-saving measures. The campaign concludes with participation in the annual RhineCleanUp event on September 12. On this occasion, the RKW Group's new sustainability report, which for the first time is aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, will also be presented.
