Every year, EU citizens produce an average of 500 kg of household waste per capita - a trend that is continuing. In view of limited natural resources and a growing world population, recycling is becoming increasingly important. In the future, it will be important to use materials as often as possible before they are incinerated, landfilled or, in the worst case, simply disposed of in the environment.
