Developer turns to K-Land to rescue land

HOUSING developer Dundas Building Co Ltd has awarded K-Land Solutions a contract to ensure the site of a new 139 home development is safe for future residents.

The site is located in the popular North Lodge area of Motherwell and was a former Scottish Power distribution centre.

Grangemouth based K-Land Solutions, a specialist environmental remediation company was responsible for the remediation of 8,000 cubic metres of soil which formed part of the planning requirement for the site.

Christopher Sandground, is heading up the K-Land team. He said:

“The site has a legacy of hydrocarbon contamination, which, without work would have posed a risk to the health of future residents.

“The development will transform the area and we are delighted to be playing a valuable part in making it possible.”

Martin Glendinning, Director at Dundas Building Company said:

“The 22 week project is near completion and has been a success. We designed a strategy which we wanted to be delivered effectively and economically and K-Land fitted the bill. The development is well on course to greatly improve the area.”

The contract is valued at £90,000.

Dundas Estates & Development Co. Ltd. is the property development division of the James Walker Group, a quality construction company established in 1863.
