THE Equilibrium Foundation, set up by Equilibrium Asset Management, is continuing its support to local charities by helping an Alderley Edge based charity to organise a trip to the seaside for people with learning difficulties.

The Equilibrium Foundation donated £1,000 to Time Out Group, which provides social and leisure activities for adults in the Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Handforth, as well as offering respite for parents and carers.

Equilibrium Asset Management set up the Equilibrium Foundation last year to support good causes in the North West, focusing on the needs of the young and elderly. Since its establishment, less than 12 months ago, the Foundation has donated £21,000 to the work of 13 different charities in the region.

Gill Davies, trustee at Time Out Group, said: “As a charity we have to raise all own funds in order to support the activities we run. We are so grateful for the generous donation from the Equilibrium Foundation. The money they gave helped us to take our members on our biennial week away to Ribby Hall inBlackpool.

“The donation will also help us to run to our weekly events such as tennis club, bowling and pub quizzes. All these activities help our members to enjoy a healthy and active life.”

Colin Lawson, managing partner at Equilibrium, said: “Starting the Equilibrium Foundation has helped us uncover some fantastic groups and charities in the region. Many of our clients have got involved and made suggestions on where donations could be made and this has meant we can help make a real difference in the community.

“We have pledged to raise £250,000 by the end of 2020 and are committed to matching every £1 donated by clients and staff. We’ve got a number of fundraising events coming up in the coming months including a sky dive, the Great North Swim and a 10k run and are excited about being able to help more worthy causes.”

Equilibrium has been providing bespoke financial management services to its clients for more than 16 years. Over the past 12 months the wealth management firm has grown its client base from 320 to 370 and now oversees £200 million worth of client assets. It provides expertise on wealth and investment planning, pensions and inheritance tax strategies.
