WILMSLOW-based Equilibrium Asset Management is continuing its success story by passing the £200 million milestone for assets under its management.

Headed up by managing partner, Colin Lawson, the 30 strong team now manages more than £200 million worth of assets for more than 400 clients. This has grown by £50 million over the past 18 months.

Last year the ambitious firm outlined a growth strategy target of £40 million of new asset wins for the year and is already £5 million ahead of its pro rata target. This growth strategy was reinforced in September 2011 when Equilibrium opened a second office in Knutsford and has now set its sights on expanding further into Chester as well as Manchester City Centre.

Equilibrium provides its clients with bespoke wealth management services ranging from pension planning, stocks and shares and inheritance management.

Earlier this year Equilibrium also launched a bespoke financial planning service dedicated to working investors and savers in the accumulation phase of their financial lives.

The risk of driving expansions plans in the middle of a recession has paid off for Equilibrium as it has firmly established itself as the investment advisor of choice for high net worth clients. The average portfolio of a new client this year sits around the £500,000 mark and the firm has also attracted an increasing number of clients with £1million to £5 million to invest.

Colin Lawson, managing partner at Equilibrium said: “We set ourselves some big growth targets in 2011 and surpassing these in the current economic client is testament to the expertise and investment insight our advisors offer clients which private banks and stockbrokers struggle to maintain.

“Even with the current uncertainty in the financial market, there are great opportunities out there for savvy investors.”
