Townscape provides polymer direction for Anglesey coastline

STREET furniture manufacturer, Townscape Products Limited, is providing direction for visitors to the Welsh coast by supplying fingerposts along the Anglesey Coastal Path.
Townscape has supplied directional sign posts along Anglesey’s 125 miles of breath-taking coastline, which is a designated area of outstanding beauty.
The four metre high polymer fingerposts were manufactured by Townscape to a bespoke heritage design for the Isle of Anglesey County Council in a variety of colours.
Jonathan Goss, managing director of Townscape, said: “Polymer is the ideal material for these bespoke fingerposts as it provides a non-ferrous, non- rusting exterior surface and is highly resistant to high saline coastal environments.
“Anglesey’s coastal path attracts thousands of visitors every year and the council specified fingerposts which would be durable and easy to maintain. Our Perfoma-Cast™ product is virtually maintenance free, creating a low life time cost.
”The coastline along Anglesey is home to a variety of environments including farmland, coastal heath, sand dunes, salt marsh and woodland. The polymer composure of the fingerposts means they will be resilient to all these surroundings."
Sioned Jones, purchasing manager at the Isle of Anglesey County Council, said: “The coastal path passes through scenery of which 95 per cent is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and connects over 36 coastal villages. Whilst the majority of the footpath is very well way-marked, signage within the more urban sections of our path needed improving.
“We wanted something that would fit in well in this type of setting and are very pleased with the outcome; the footpath through our towns and villages are now easy to follow and the fingerposts provide an attractive addition to our coastal path.”
