On April 25, entrepreneurs, robot developers and end-users meet at the event Robotics Innovation Challenge (RIC) in Eskilstuna, Sweden, to share thoughts and ideas on the challenges and opportunities for successful commercialization of new robot innovations. A strong trio of keynote speakers open the event; Dan Kara, Erin Rapacki and Renaud Champion. New solutions are presented at an innovation catwalk and the winner of the Robotdalen Innovation Award 2013 is announced. All in all, the event will show why Sweden is ranked as one the most innovative countries in the world.

Robotdalen’s focus and success in enabling commercial success of new robot ideas, combined with intense co-operation with a broad spectrum of partners, attracts more and more attention internationally.

-       What I find particularly compelling about Robotdalen is the emphasis on developing commercial class products and developing new businesses, often by partnering with others. The RIC event demonstrates why Sweden is consistently ranked as one the most innovative countries in the world, says key note speaker Dan Kara.

The keynote speakers are:

  • Dan Kara, President of the new start-up Electra Studios and analyst-at-large for Robotics Business Review, an American website presenting news and business information on robotics from all over the world.
  • Erin Rapacki, a product storyteller with robotics experience across academia and industry, in both the Boston and Silicon Valley hotspots.
  • Renaud Champion, co-founder and partner of ROBOLUTION Capital, the first investment fund dedicated to professional and personal service robotics in Europe and the first worldwide fund in this sector.

New robot solutions on an innovation catwalk and the announcement of the winner of the Robotdalen Innovation Award 2013 are also on the agenda. The afternoon gives the visitors excellent opportunities to see robot products and meet entrepreneurs, companies and end-users, participate in matchmaking, discuss their own robot ideas and listen to presentations in the Speaker’s corner, such as Bjoern Juretzki from the European Commission who will present information on a Public-Private Partnership in Robotics.

The event takes place on April 25 in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The full program, list of exhibitors, registration form and other information is available at www.robotdalen.se/RIC.
