Strong jury for the Robotdalen Innovation Award

The Swedish robotics initiative Robotdalen arranges the international competition Robotdalen Innovation Award, aiming at giving the winners an opportunity to further develop their commercially valid robotics solutions. The jury consists of Danica Kragic Jensfelt, professor at the Swedish KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Christer Rameback, Industrial Systems Business Area Manager at the company Prevas and Jacob Vierø, Director for Sales & Marketing at KUKA Nordic AB. Last date for entries is October 31, 2011. The winner will be announced at Robotdalens international conference Robotics Innovation Challenge in Eskilstuna, Sweden, on February 9, 2012.

The Robotdalen Innovation Award is directed towards innovators, entrepreneurs, robot-users, researchers and students from all over the world who have ideas, concepts or solutions with commercial potential and
breakthrough technology, addressing the following fields of robotics and automation:

• Field robotics - solutions for mobile robots,

• Industrial robotics - robotics and automation solutions for small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s),

• Technology for Independent Life - solutions for the health care and for the elderly.

A jury with impressive competence
The jury that will evaluate the competition entries are:

  • Danica Kragic Jensfelt, Professor of Computer Science at the Swedish KTH Royal Institute of Technology, vice dean at the School of Computer Science and Communication and director for the Centre of Autonomous Systems,
  • Christer Rameback, Industrial Systems Business Area Manager at the company Prevas, with 25 years of experience from increased productivity through automatization of industrial processes,
  • Jacob Vierø, Director for Sales & Marketing at the robot company KUKA Nordic AB, in charge of the entire Scandinavian market.

- The members of the jury complement each other very well with their various backgrounds and competence and bring their own unique perspective to the assessment of the competition entries, says Lennart Karlsson, Internationalization Manager at Robotdalen. The last date for entries is October 31. The winners will be announced at The Robotics Innovation Challenge, an international Robotdalen event taking place in Eskilstuna, Sweden on February 9, 2012.
