Roland Products Receive GREENGUARD Gold Certification
Eco-Sol MAX®, Eco-Sol MAX® 2 and WallFlair™ Removable Fabric Meet Rigorous UL Standard for Low VOC Emissions
Digital Printing leader Roland DGA Corp. has announced that three of its products – Eco-Sol MAX ink, Eco-Sol MAX 2 ink and WallFlair Removable Fabric – have received GREENGUARD Gold UL 2818 certification from UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories). This certification provides assurance that these products meet some of the world’s most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air.
GREENGUARD Gold Certification includes safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly) and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments like schools and hospitals. This type of certification is becoming a key factor to a growing number of architects, designers and facility managers seeking to incorporate third-party certified, healthier, more sustainable products into their buildings.
“People spend 90 percent of their time indoors, which is why healthier indoor spaces are so critical,” says Sara Greenstein, president of UL Environment. “We commend Roland’s GREENGUARD Certification as a demonstration of their commitment to the health of their consumers and their consumers’ families.”
Because Roland’s Eco-Sol MAX, Eco-Sol MAX 2 and WallFlair Removable Fabric meet strict chemical emissions limits, they aid in the creation of healthier interior environments by reducing indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure. GREENGUARD Certification supports the efforts of companies, such as Roland, that are helping to ensure global environmental health, safety and sustainability, while also enabling consumers to identify products they can trust.
Roland DGA President Rick Scrimger is quick to point out that environmental awareness, and continuous improvement in this area, is a core part of Roland’s operating philosophy. “Roland isn’t just committed to exceeding customer expectations when it comes to product quality, service and support, we’re also striving to ensure that our offerings are as eco-friendly as possible,” said Scrimger. “This level of UL certification is hard-earned, and proves that Roland inks have always been part of an eco-conscious plan to create green products for our customers – and importantly, their customers.”
Roland DGA offers a complete lineup of technologically advanced products and accessories for the digital printing market, including state-of-the-art large-format printers and printer/cutters, eco-solvent and UV inks, and a wide variety of certified media. The company also provides high quality products for the dental, engraving and 3-D modeling industries.
