ROOFSHOP ROLLS OUT INDUSTRY-FIRST CASH-BACK SCHEME FOR FLAT ROOFS

Roofshop – the largest supplier of roofing materials in the UK – is rolling out a bold and innovative ‘Cash for U’ scheme for roofing contractors that offers up to £5 cash back per m2 on its flat roof insulation systems for domestic refurbishments. Based on the average size of a domestic flat roof replacement of 20 square metres, only 120mm insulation is required to average a generous cash back reward of £100 per home,

Launched in conjunction with the UK energy industry and linked to the government’s CERT scheme to reduce carbon emissions, this industry-first initiative provides roofing contractors with a real opportunity to boost their business performance before the CERT scheme expires at the end of this year.

Business Development Manager at Roofshop, Derek Thomas explains: “We are delighted to unveil this innovative initiative that promises genuine savings for roofing contractors. Similar to the subsidies available for loft and cavity wall insulation, there is now no better time to install domestic flat roof insulation. However, whilst it’s a win-win for all, and the more roofs refurbished, the more cash the contractor can enjoy, roofing contractors must act quick to reap the rewards of this scheme.”

Derek adds: “Looking beyond the immediate benefits to the roofing contractor, this cash back scheme represents the first time that energy saving measures have been specifically directed at flat roofs and, with potential savings of £8 per m2 per annum*, Roofshop is delighted to be pioneering what promises to be a hugely successful industry initiative.”

Applicable to domestic flat roof refurbishments for heated areas of the home – garages are not included - the scheme is open to all UK roofing contractors and is simple and hassle free to operate. After registering for the scheme and presenting a countersigned claim form by the homeowner, the cash back claim will simply be paid directly to the roofing contractor within 30 days of receipt.

With over 125 branches nationwide and with an unrivalled choice of over 40,000 roofing products, Roofshop provides a one-stop shop for the roofing contractor. Backed by expert advice and efficient service, Roofshop caters for all aspects of flat roofing, from design and materials, to installation and delivery.

The resulting CO2 saving is 39.5kg per annum gross (ie without removal of the Comfort Factor, used in CERT of 15%) Fuel type – gas (ie the dominant home heating fuel type – if a weighted average fuel type had been taken, the CO2 saving could have been increased by about 10%). Typical average gas cost of 4p per KWh (figure taken from www.confusedaboutenergy.co.uk as at 1st Feb 2012 is 4.15p).
