    Rottneros decides on environmental investments at Vallvik Mill

    Rottneros’ Board has decided on investments to reduce emissions to water at Vallvik Mill. The investments amount to a total of SEK 33 million and are linked to the mill's updated environmental permit, which has now gained legal force, allowing an annual pulp production of 255,000 tons.The decision means that a number of measures will be taken to reduce emissions to water. They will be implemented during the mill's annual maintenance shutdown in 2021.     New production record, significantly increased uncertainty due to corona·THE NBSK PULP MARKET PRICE was 28 % lower in USD and 24 % lower in SEK compared to the first quarter 2019. Compared to the fourth quarter 2019 there was a modest upward trend. · NET TURNOVER decreased by 7 % to 585 (630) MSEK.     Preem and RenFuel to create the world’s first lignin plant for biofuels

    Press Release May 24, 2018 Preem and RenFuel are assessing, in collaboration with Rottneros, the construction of the world’s first lignin plant for biofuels, at the pulp mill in Vallvik, Söderhamn. The plant is expected to produce an annual volume of 25,000-30,000 tonnes of lignin, and will be completed in 2021.The collaboration between the companies means that Preem will be the first fuel manufacturer in Sweden to use lignin in its production. DividendThe AGM resolved on an ordinary dividend of SEK 0.30 per share and an extraordinary dividend of SEK 0.07 per share (in total SEK 0.37) for the financial year 2017. The record date for receiving the dividend is 18 May 2018 and the dividend will be paid out on 23 May 2018.     Rottneros has appointed Kristin Israelsson as mill manager of Rottneros Mill. Kristin most recently comes from BillerudKorsnäs, where she has been for the past 16 years, most recently as sectionhead in the pulp mill of Gruvön. She will take office no later than September 1, 2018 and will be part of the Rottneros Group Management Team.     As part of optimising the Rottneros Group, a new organisation is introduced with a group-wide sales organisation and a site manager for each mill. At the same time, a group-wide safety function is established, which becomes part of the Human Resource Department. The purpose of the new organisation is to create an increased focus within each sub-area. Through the new organisation, the mills can focus wholeheartedly on productivity, quality, environment, costs and completion of Agenda 500.
