Girl Power and Great Shoes Given to 300 Girls In Need for School-4th Annual Aldabella Scarpa Giveback Event August 17
LA PUENTE, CA – AUGUST 14, 2012 – Two sisters return to their hometown to give back to young girls in need and to inspire them to follow their dreams at the 4th Annual Aldabella Scarpa Giveback Event on Friday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to Noon. This “girl power” event features messages from successful women business leaders, including Josefa Salinas, successful author and Morning News Anchor from Hot 92.3 FM. Community donations provide 300 girls selected from Villacorta, Northam and Hurley Elementary Schools inLa Puente with designer shoes, backpacks filled with school supplies, and a variety of booths with treats and resources for the girls and their families. Hurley Elementary will also have their student Mariachi group perform. The Giveback Event will take place at Villacorta Elementary, located at17840 E. Villacorta Street inLa Puente.
“We wanted to giveback to young women where we grew up and encourage them to dream big, and let them know a whole community has come together to help them,” said Monica Gonzales, CEO of the designer shoe and boutique fashion company Aldabella Scarpa. “Our tennis shoes, designed by our nieces who were 8 at the time, were created with empowering graphics such as Believe, You Matter, and Friends.” The company is known for donating a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes purchased.
