Russell Scanlan broadcasts its services to Notts TV
New organistion Notts TV has appointed local insurance broking and risk managing firm Russell Scanlan to develop a comprehensive portfolio of insurance cover for the business. This news comes hot off the heels of the TV station’s recent launch to in excess of 1.5 million people.
Located at Antenna, the Creative Quarter’s business hub for the creative industries, Notts TV delivers a range of news and featured programmes that provide something for everyone.
But as a start-up consortium involving the Nottingham Post, Nottingham Trent University, Confetti Media Group and Inclusive Digital, the recently-formed organisation has had to put in place all the necessary measures to operate effectively.
Russell Scanlan - based on Wellington Circus in the City - was approached to help on the insurance side because of the firm’s strong reputation within the local business community.
Richard Hamblin, Finance Director at Confetti Media Group, explained: “The very nature of our work at Notts TV means staff will be using high tech equipment as they go out and about to push the boundaries and source that all important story. We needed a specialist insurance package to protect our assets as well as any potential issues that may arise as a result of our coverage.

Russell Scanlan was established in Nottingham in 1881 by Patrick Scanlan, where it has been based ever since. The company’s Nottingham office is located on Wellington Circus in the City centre. Over the years, Russell Scanlan has developed and prospered, and following a successful management buy out in 2007, it expanded into Leicester, opening an office two years later on the outskirts of the City in the Desford area.
