Ruukki appoints Jan Samec Vice President, Head of Building Envelopes

Ruukki Construction, part of SSAB and a leading supplier of sustainable, steel-based building products, appoints Jan Samec Vice President, Head of Building Envelopes. He will be a member of the Ruukki Construction Leadership Team and report to Sami Eronen, CEO of Ruukki Construction. Jan will take up his position by October 1, 2025, at the latest.
Jan joins Ruukki from Nordec Group, a leading provider of steel frames and structures for buildings, facades and steel bridges in the Nordic countries, where he currently serves as Senior Vice President, Central Eastern Europe. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience in steel construction in European markets. Jan is also a familiar face at Ruukki and SSAB, having led the former Building Systems business in Central Eastern Europe between 2009 and 2019.
In his new role, Jan will lead the Building Envelopes business, which offers customers premium wall and roof structure solutions that combine aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. He succeeds Carsten Kyster, who has served as interim lead since March 2025.
