Ruukki to strengthen Plannja product offering in Scandinavia by acquiring Designtak

Ruukki Construction, a subsidiary of SSAB, has signed an agreement to acquire the majority holding in door canopy manufacturer Designtak AB in Sweden. Designtak will be integrated into Ruukki’s Plannja Landsbro unit. The transaction strengthens the company’s growth and customer service capabilities in Scandinavia by improving the ability to offer complete roofs to customers in the Nordic home market.
Plannja Landsbro is specialized as a supplier of sheet metal products for single-family houses and new housing construction. Plannja Lansbro offers complete roofing solutions including roof profiles, rainwater systems, roof safety products, flashings, and ventilation systems, which tailored for each customer.
Designtak designs and manufactures high-quality prefabricated door canopies. Established in 2009, the company, is located in Vetlanda in southern Sweden, employs around 20 people and had sales of approximately SEK 42 million in 2022. Designtak will continue to operate under its own brand with the existing management and staff.

Plannja develops and produces roof and facade profiles and accessories for sustainable construction in the Nordics. Plannja has production facilities in Järnforsen and Landsbro in Sweden. Plannja is a brand within Ruukki Construction that supplies steel-based building products for roofs and walls for sustainable buildings.
