Barbro Runer, SEB Internet Bank's 200,000 customer was awarded a prize, by Carl Sundvik, Head of Internet Banking, at a ceremony held today at Sergels Torg in Stockholm. The prize was a journey for two persons to Silicon Valley, USA. "It's fun to be customer number 200,000. I signed up for Internet Banking in order to be able to check on my mutual funds and shares without having to go to a branch office," says Barbro Runer, from Vallentuna, north of Stockholm. "Sitting at home and finding out how things are going suits me perfectly." 30 per cent of all payments, for private individuals and for corporate clients are made via SEB's Internet Bank, as is one fifth of all the securities trading carried out by private individuals. Amongst the 203,000 customers mentioned there are 13,000 companies that have chosen SEB's Internet Bank as their main bank. This number is made up primarily of small companies, with fewer than 10 employees, within such areas as consulting, service and IT. In its October edition, the publication Internetguiden (Internet guide) rated SEB "the most complete Internet Bank in Sweden". SEB's Internet Bank received top rating for its range of services, level of service and on-line help. The publication PC För Alla (PC for all) also gave SEB's Internet Bank a top rating and described the bank as a forerunner when it comes to Internet solutions. "The steady flow of new clients and the fine reviews of our Internet Bank confirm that we have the right range of services and presentation of the functional aspects of the bank. This inspires us to develop still further and produce still more services." Says Carl Sundvik.
