SEB increases holding in Latvijas Unibanka, Latvia

SEB increases holding in Latvijas Unibanka, Latvia SEB has bought 5,714,553 Latvijas Unibanka shares at a price of LVL 1.36 per share. This investment of SEK 107 M corresponds to 15.4 per cent of the share capital and voting rights (before conversion). Before conversion SEB has now 44.3 per cent of the share capital and voting rights of Latvijas Unibanka. SEB bought the shares from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) which no longer holds any shares of Latvijas Unibanka but maintains its relationship with Unibanka through a USD 20 million credit line. On 12 February, 1999, SEB acquired 5.9 per cent (before conversion) of Unibanka's share capital and voting rights from the Latvian Privatisation Agency.
