SEB starts interest and futures trading via the Internet 700 corporate clients already carry out currency trading via SEB's Trading Station. SEB is in the process of increasing its range of Internet products for corporate clients. Today, 700 corporate clients with 1,300 users carry out currency trading via SEB's Trading Station, which accounts for 20 per cent of SEB's corporate client currency trading in Sweden. Within nine months SEB expects to have its Trading Station in Europe, USA and Asia. SEB is alone in the world with the unique combination of services offered by its Trading Station. Apart from the trading services provided, there are also currency rates, interest rates, share indices, raw material prices, market information, international news, as well as access to SEB's economic and technical analyses. The information is delivered in real time. As soon as a rate changes there is an update of the information contained in Trading Station. Furthermore, there is a confirmation system that provides the customer with instant confirmation and documentation. As well as the fact that Trading Station now offers interest and futures trading, it has been upgraded with a new security system that affords increased access to the trading place. "Trading Station is a complement to traditional telephone trading. Apart from having the opportunity to carry out their own trades, our clients gain access to market and global information that helps to support the making of business decisions," says Lars Gustavsson, Head of IT and business development at SEB Merchant Banking. "Trading Station can best be compared to an on-line-broker service, where the corporate client can trade, in real time, on various exchanges or market places via the Internet," says Lars Gustavsson. In the Euromoney market survey carried out in May this year, corporate heads of finance, voted SEB into a global third place ranking in the Internet Trading category.
