Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ) increases its holding in Latvijas Unibank

Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ) increases its holding in Latvijas Unibanka in Latvia Over the last week, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) has acquired an additional amount of 1,675,000 shares in Latvijas Unibanka, equivalent to approximately 4.5 % of the total share capital in Unibanka. This brings SEB's total holding and voting capacity to 48.8 % of Unibanka´s current share capital. On November 18, 1998, SEB entered into an agreement with Unibanka, which gave SEB an initial holding of 23.1 % of the shares as well as a convertible loan, which fully converted today would increase SEB's shareholding by 8.7 %. On February 12, 1999, SEB acquired 5.9 % in Unibanka from the Latvian Privatisation Agency, and on February 16, SEB acquired an additional 15.4 % in Unibanka from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
