The SEB Group Appointed "Best International Bank in the Baltics 1999" The SEB Group has been appointed "Best International Bank in the Baltics" by the British publication Euromoney for the second, consecutive year. Since the beginning of the 1990´s, the SEB Group has intensified its work in assisting Nordic-related clients in developing relationships with partners in the region. "It is a positive assesment from our Baltic partners which are a part of the group who responded to this survey. The SEB Group has a long-term, positive view of the region, which gradually is being integrated into the Northern- European economy. The SEB Group has a strong position in the Baltics," says Mr Ando Muldre, Vice President & Area Manager, Central Europe & the Baltics, Bank & Regional Development within SEB Merchant Banking. The SEB Group keeps strengthening its position in the area and has this far invested SEK 1.4 billion in the three Baltic banks Eesti Ühispank in Estonia, Latvijas Unibanka in Latvia, and Vilniaus Bank in Lithuania. "The SEB Group´s ambition is to contribute to a positive development of the Baltic banking system, something which is vital for the future economic growth in the region," says Mr Mats Kjaer, President of SEB Baltic Holding AB, responsible for the Group´s involvement in the Baltic banks.
