Enskilda Securities strengthens its position Per-Anders Ovin, Henric Falkenberg and Björn Jansson are to join Enskilda Securities. All three will be leaving senior positions at Alfred Berg. In the autumn, Per-Anders Ovin will take over from Per Elcar as regards global responsibility for the Equities business unit of Enskilda Securities. Per Elcar will assume global responsibility for Sales, i.e. contact with some 500 Swedish and international institutional clients of Enskilda Securities. Henric Falkenberg and Göran Tornée will be jointly responsible for the management of Equities' operations in Stockholm. Björn Jansson will assume global responsibility for analysis. "This move is another step toward achieving our goal of being the number one player as regards equities in the Nordic countries." Says Lars Linder-Aronson, Head of Enskilda Securities. "At the same time we shall be improving our position when it comes to the development of our entire international operation, where our ambition is to be one of the top five brokers in Europe within such sectors as pharmaceutical and medical/technical products, forestry, mechanical and automobile areas as well as in the area of banking/insurance. Thanks to our widespread geographical presence in Europe, we are now in a strong position to participate in the new "Euroland Market". Apart from having almost complete coverage when it comes to monitoring nearly all the listed companies in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway - as well as an increasingly broader coverage of the Baltic countries, we are now improving the development of our international analysis operations." According to Lars H Thunell, President and CEO of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, "We are continuing to build an organisation which, even in the future, will be able to maintain its position as the leading investment bank in the Nordic region. From just such a strong Nordic position, Enskilda Securities is now expanding its international operations. I regard this strategy as a fine example of the strength of S-E-Banken's decentralisation philosophy, where every business area is given the opportunity of developing its own business and has the chance to realise its own potential." Enskilda Securities is investment bank and broker for the S-E-Bank Group. It employs a staff of some 400 stationed throughout eight countries*. Enskilda is currently the leading player on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and is number four in Helsinki. Several recent surveys carried out upon clients by Euromoney, Finanstidningen, etc., have resulted in Enskilda's analysis unit being ranked number two in both Sweden and in the Nordic countries as a whole. Enskilda Securities' move toward subsidiary status, referred to earlier this year, is going according to plan and should be completed by the autumn. *) Enskilda Securities has offices London, New York, Frankfurt, Paris, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm.
