S-E-Banken/Trygg-Hansa changes logo to S E B As of today, 10 September, 1998, the logotype of the entire S-E-Banken /Trygg.-Hansa group will be changed. The new trade mark for one of the Nordic region's largest banking and insurance groups will be S E B. The former symbol will cease to be used. The new group will have one identifying symbol. However, certain subsidiaries and business units will continue to use their own names. For example, "sakförsäkring" (non-life) is an area which will continue to use the name Trygg-Hansa along with the well-known life buoy as its trade mark. The life insurance operations of Trygg-Hansa and S-E-Banken will join forces under the new name S E B Trygg Liv. "Our new trade mark may be seen as a starting point for continued change. That which we are introducing today is only the beginning of a long and exciting period of development. Many things will be changing within the financial world of the future and S E B will be taking part and playing a very active role," says Lars H Thunell, President and CEO of S E B. The new trade mark indicates that the merger of S-E-Banken and Trygg-Hansa has now been carried out and that the new group will be able to offer a comprehensive range of products and services within the fields of banking and insurance. It also means that various financial operations will be united under one banner. With its extensive operations and both domestic and widespread international presence, S E B will have a unique opportunity to be a successful player both on the home front and in prioritised areas throughout the geographical vicinity of the group. S E B's ambition is to be the leading provider of financial services in northern Europe. "We plan to continue along the path we have chosen and offer our clients specialist competence., which together with long experience and innovative thinking will make up part of those success factors which form a sound basis for dedicated long-term client relations. But there is still a lot more to do - and we are going to do it, starting today!" says Lars H Thunell. Changes will be implemented in the Swedish part of the group to begin with and will be gradually introduced throughout the entire international network.
