Empire Airways to Accept Saab 340A for Contract Charter Flights Saab Aircraft Leasing will deliver a Saab 340A to Empire Airways of Farmingdale, New York, at the end of this summer for group charters and corporate shuttle flights. Based at Republic Airport, Empire was established in August 2003 and has clients including major corporations, schools and private individuals in the niche market of Long Island, New York, the Cape Islands and Connecticut. The Saab 340A, with 30-seats, will assist Empire in its growth strategy of carrying additional passengers on its flights. Currently, Empire has two BAe Jetstream 31s in 10- and 12-seat configurations. "The people at Saab are the reason we chose the Saab 340.
