New order for Saab’s Carl-Gustaf

Defence and security company Saab has signed a contract for further deliveries of components for the Carl-Gustaf man-portable weapon system.

The order has a total value of approximately SEK 156 million and comprises components for ammunition to the latest version of the Carl-Gustaf system. The order is placed under an option included in a previous contract which Saab signed on 31 October 2012.

“Carl-Gustaf is an important part of many defence systems across the world. The system has been further developed for decades in order to meet new demands. For every new model, more new customers are also added which we of course welcome”, says Tomas Samuelsson, head of Business Area Dynamics.

The industry’s nature is such that depending on circumstances concerning the product and customer, information regarding the customer will not be announced.

The Carl-Gustaf system has a long and successful history, and still proves itself to be a highly modern and capable Ground Support weapon. The system has successively been modernized and adapted to meet new requirements. With the Carl-Gustaf M3 version Saab offer state-of-the-art capability for demanding customers investing in the future.

Deliveries will take place during 2013.
