Saab and Lund University Sign Strategic Collaboration Agreement
Saab and Lund University in Sweden have signed a collaboration agreement concerning research, innovation and education.
The agreement was signed by Torbjörn von Schantz, principal of the Lund University, and Håkan Buskhe, President and CEO of Saab. The agreement is a platform for long term and strategic competence provisioning, providing added value to mutually strengthen Lund University and the Saab Group.
“Saab has a long and successful history of university collaborations, including Lund University. The agreement will strengthen the collaboration and give us access to competencies at Lund University in strategic areas to Saab”, says Håkan Buskhe.
Together, Lund University and Saab will develop activities within education and research for the benefit of both parties, and make competence, resources and facilities available to both parties.
Among the focus areas for the collaboration are electromagnetic field theory, computer sciences, energy sciences and structural mechanics.
“Saab is an important strategic partner. We have collaborated with them for a long time on a number of projects. By deepening and formalising the collaboration, we see even greater opportunities to develop research, education and innovations together. Academia and the business sector need to work closely and in the long term to solve today’s complex technological and societal challenges“, says Torbjörn von Schantz, Vice-Chancellor of Lund University.
Lund University is a top 100 university in the world with 42,000 students, 7,700 employees. Lund University has around 600 partner universities world-wide.
