Saab Comments on Arbitration Panel’s Judgement in Patent Dispute

Report this content

Defence and security company Saab received on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 the declaratory judgement from the Arbitration Panel regarding the interpretation and application of agreements on patents between Saab Transponder Tech and the company GP&C (Håkan Lans).

The Arbitration Panel has in all material aspects ruled in Saab's favour, including Saab’s interpretation on how to calculate royalties. Saab has, based on the Arbitration Panel’s declaratory judgement, estimated the financial impact and concludes that Saab Transponder Tech has already paid royalties at least on the level that can be the result of the declaratory judgement. GP&C must also, according to the Arbitration Panel, account for a majority of the Panel’s costs and for parts of Saab's litigation costs.
