Saab signs contract for component maintenance

Defence and security company Saab has signed a five-year contract with the airline British Midland Regional Ltd (BMI Regional) for component maintenance and the repair of BMI Regional’s fleet of Embraer aircraft.  

The total value of the contract, for the period 2013-2018, amounts to 105 MSEK and a first order of 65 MSEK has been received. The agreement includes component maintenance and repairs for BMI Regional’s fleet of Embraer 145 and Embraer 135 aircraft. The contract covers 18 aircraft and approximately 400 components.

The services includes a fixed “power by the hour” price, guaranteed turn-around times, engineering services, transportation and a 24/7 service desk.

Saab´s Business Area Support and Services offers component maintenance and repairs for commercial aircraft, helicopters and military aircraft on the global market.

BMI Regional operates over 600 flights a week to 17 destinations across theUKandEurope.
