SAB WABCO signs 25 million euro contract with Alstom for X60 project in Sweden

SAB WABCO SIGNS 25 MILLION EURO CONTRACT WITH ALSTOM FOR X60 PROJECT IN SWEDEN Malmö, Sweden, 6 November, 2003 - SAB WABCO has signed a contract with Alstom in Germany for the supply of brake system for 55 six-car trains for Stockholm Transport (SL). The order includes engineering and production of complete brake systems with bogie brake parts and complete brake control system. This contract amounts to approximately 25 million euros, which is the biggest order in the history of SAB WABCO. Final delivery is planned to take place in 2006. More than 600 000 people travel with Stockholm Transport (SL) every day which requires a well-functioning public transport system in the Stockholm Region. The order with Alstom includes engineering and production of complete brake systems with bogie brake parts, complete brake control system, coupler system and wheels. The brake systems are to be produced in Italy, France and Germany, with first delivery scheduled for early 2004. The choice of SAB WABCO´s platform by Alstom, is also laying the groundwork for future supply to Alstom in other countries.
