Another rescue station on Iceland selects the RescueRunner system

Björgunarsveitin Vopni, a key search and rescue station on the east side of Iceland, chooses after having tested one of their sister stations's RescueRunners  under a period of time, to invest in their own RescueRunnersystem.

We are very happy to be delivering yet another RescueRunner system to Iceland, says Linda Ahl, Sales-and Business Development Manager at Safe at Sea.

Last winter Björgunarsveitin Vopni was searching for a missing fisherman in extremely bad weather conditions and received support from one of their sister stations that has been using the RescueRunner system for some years. They then realised how useful it is in challenging situations. After that mission they had a chance to borrow and try the RescueRunner for a period of time and were then convinced about its capacity and capabilities.

Björgunarsveitin Vopnis missons are carried out both on land, sea- and in the mountains and they often work together with their sister stations. The past days they have made a heroic search and rescue mission in the terrifying land slides in Seydisfjordur.

The weather conditions on Iceland can be very extreme and it is therefore crucuial to have reliable, high quality equipment. We are therefore very proud that our boats work so well for them in the tough conditions they operate in. That they live up to their expectations in their important work, says Linda Ahl.
