The Fire & Rescue Services in Varberg, Sweden invests in their water rescue capabilities
With constantly growing tourism, thousands of people visiting the beaches during the summertime and surfers from all over Europe coming to the Surf-Mecka of Varberg each year, there is a great need for increasing the water rescue capabilities in the municipality. To secure this the fire and rescue services in Varberg, Räddningstjänsten Väst, is now investing in a complete RescueRunner system.
The fire and rescue services in Varberg (Räddningstjänsten Väst) have during the past years seen a great need to invest in a new type of boat to enable them to handle the different risk scenarios they have identified potentially occuring along their coast lines, in a safe and effecient manner. ”High waves, rip tides, shallow- and difficult to access beaches and bays in addition to a rapidly increasing interest for surfing and Varberg as a holiday destination, challenges our operators and personell in emergency situations", says Daniel Johansson, supervisor and fire fighter at Räddningstjänsten Väst. A RescueRunner system is the best tool we can use in our operational environment and it will enable us to secure the safety in an effecient, fast and easily operated way.
The RescueRunner System will be delivered in December 2019.
