Handelsbanken terminates Safello’s Swish Handel and Swish Företag

Stockholm, 27 April 2023 | Safello announces that Handelsbanken has terminated Safello’s access to the payment service Swish Handel and Swish Företag with immediate effect due to suspicions on Safello’s services being used for or in connection with sale of goods and services which, according to the bank's assessment, are contrary to Swedish or foreign law or other constitution or Swedish or foreign authority decision.

Safello is investigating the circumstances and is looking into finding an alternative course of action.

“We are taking immediate action to investigate the suspicions in regards to our services being used for illicit activities. Safello will cooperate with Handelsbanken to reach mutual understanding in regards to the circumstances at hand. In regards to business continuity we will evaluate viable options in order to provide alternative payment methods for our customers” says Emelie Moritz, CEO of Safello.
