SALT and Semstecy Launch Camp COBOL to Address Urgent Skill Shortage in the Financial Sector Stockholm

SALT - School of Applied Technology, in collaboration with Semstecy, today announces the launch of Camp COBOL, an intensive 12-week training program designed to address the urgent shortage of COBOL developers in the banking and finance sector. This initiative follows a successful case study with Folksam, where 14 employees were successfully reskilled as COBOL experts.

"While we provide Swedish companies with expertise in the latest technology, we also recognize an enormous need and value in securing expertise in COBOL, which still powers over 70% of the world's financial transactions. With Camp COBOL, we are taking a proactive step to ensure that companies have the breadth of competence required to manage both modern and legacy systems in the financial sector."
The program, now open for general admission, targets both companies looking to secure their digital infrastructure and individuals seeking a unique career shift in the tech world.
