- Marcus Schrauf recruited as new VP Business Area SunCool

SaltX Technology –  listed on Nasdaq First North – expands its executive management team and appoints Marcus Schrauf as VP Business Area SunCool. Marcus, previously at Jinko Solar, will have a global role with overall responsibility of SaltX SunCool business.

"Now that the serial production has started, the timing is right to increase SaltX sales activities for SunCool on a global basis. With Marcus strong track record in the solar industry, we have the ability to implement our SunCool strategy. While Marcus will work closely with our Chinese partner, his focus will be to secure large projects on markets outside China", says Karl Bohman, CEO of SaltX.

Marcus joins from one of the world’s largest solar PV provider  Jinko Solar in China  where he headed up the Project Development division for Middle East & Africa. There, he was responsible for the winning bid for the 1.2-GW “Sweihan project” in Abu Dabi – the largest solar PV project in the world.

"Energy storage solutions are the holy grail of the energy industry. Particularly in the Southern Hemisphere, storage will bridge the gap between the abundance of solar energy and the efficient use of it. Together with the brilliant minds of SaltX, we will revolutionize how the industry thinks", says Marcus Schrauf.

Prior to this, Marcus headed the development for EMEA and LATAM for Avelar Energy, a Russian led developer and investor in renewable assets, where he pioneered private, non-government Power Purchase Agreement-based on solar PV projects in South Africa.

Marcus has an MBA from University of Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa, and holds an LL.M. degree in Finance from the Institute for Law and Finance in Frankfurt. He will start on March 1st.
