SaltX Technology and Alfa Laval in collaboration to make EnerStore more energy efficient

Alfa Laval's technology will make SaltX Technology's energy storage even more energy efficient. The company has focused on proving function and scalability of the large parts of the system. SaltX is now taking the next step in developing EnerStore by streamlining the entire system, including subsystems. The collaboration can lead to future business between the parties if the experiments with Alfa Laval's equipment in SaltX's process lead to good results.

SaltX Technology is starting a collaboration with Alfa Laval, a leading global supplier of products in heat transfer, separation, and fluid handling. Alfa Laval's technology, which enables efficient heat exchange, will be installed in SaltX's plant and make it more energy-efficient. Both new innovative technology and standard solutions from Alfa Laval will be tested at the plant. The installation will occur at SaltX's pilot plant in Bollmora in 2022.

“We are very happy to have Alfa Laval as a partner. Together, our products will help speed up the energy transition. We are companies that work to contribute to a sustainable future and abandon outdated methods in the energy industry”, says Carl-Johan Linér, CEO of SaltX.

Alfa Laval and SaltX Technology have the vision to drive change and be active in the development of long-duration energy storage. Together, the companies work to switch from fossil to renewable sources and make the energy system of the future sustainable. Both companies are involved in promoting long-duration energy storage through the initiative LDES Council (Long Duration Energy Storage Council; www.ldescouncil.com)

“With Alfa Laval's decades of experience and world leading portfolio of heat exchangers, we have unique heat transfer solutions for energy storage. We are motivated to collaborate with SaltX, and on the solution, so we can create a sustainable future together”, says Kai Luk, Business Development Owner Energy Storage at Alfa Laval.

The new heat transfer technology by Alfa Laval is developed specifically for energy storage. The parties will commence business if the test results are successful and contribute to the commercialization of SaltX´s energy storage process.
