SALUS LAUNCHES REVOLUTIONARY NEW THERMOSTAT WITH COMBINED BOILER CONTROL

Report this content

Salus has taken the design of heating controls to a new level with the launch of RT500BC, a unique programmable room thermostat that combines the functions of both a room thermostat and boiler controller in one simple unit. Successfully combining design vision with technological innovation, the RT500BC sets itself apart from competitors’ models; offering improved functionality and versatility for homeowners.

Designed to be used with electric, gas or oil heating boilers, this new type of thermostat boast two wireless units – the boiler control and the temperature control – and can replace most residential thermostats. Whilst the RF Boiler Control is used for wiring connections and heat on/off control, the RT500 thermostat provides a User Interface and Temperature Sensing Control.

Boiler Control

The boiler control features both a manual and auto switch that provides users with control options. When placed on AUTO, the Boiler Control will automatically receive a RF signal from the RT500 and control the boiler based on the set programme.

User Interface

The User Interface of the RT500BC thermostat makes for simple usage with large buttons, plus a clear and easy to read digital display showing the status of the heating system, the current time and day of the week, as well as a clear indication of the current room temperature.

Temperature Sensing Control

Meanwhile, when it comes to the Temperature Sensing Control, the stylish thermostat boasts a volt free switching program that offers users great versatility with its programming options giving a 5/2 or 7 day control cycle option. The 5/2 mode is the automatic default set of programmes, comprising of five different sets of time and set point temperatures for both weekdays and weekends. In addition, the RT500BC offers a 7 day programming mode that allows the user to programme five different sets of time and set point temperatures for each day of the week. Each programme has been designed to meet the needs of most users providing them with all year round comfort as well as cost-saving on heating bills.

Designed to be installed directly onto any wall in the house, the RT500BC has been engineered with simplicity and convenience in mind. For greater comfort, the thermostat also has a user-friendly feature that allows the temperature to be adjusted in 1˚C increments, and to assist with energy saving, the RT500BC offers a set back feature which automatically returns the thermostat to ‘Normal’ mode if no buttons have been pressed for 15 seconds.

Dean Jepson, Managing Director, comments: “Once again, Salus has sparked a design revolution in heating control design, with just one unit that combines advanced temperature sensing and boiler control with a simple user interface.”

Dean adds: “The RT500BC also combines all the installation benefits of our wireless systems. This not only creates a more comfortable environment, it also helps to reduce energy consumption.”

Salus’ range of heating controls includes a comprehensive range of thermostats that features programmers; electronic, RF, cylinder and frost thermostats, together with a line-up of bypass valves, wiring centres, TRVs and control packs.
