Express Dry Cleaners in Eastbourne up their washing capability with a new Samsung washing machine
Getting in the big drum
Express Dry Cleaners in Eastbourne offers laundry services alongside its regular dry cleaning operation. As this side of the business has grown, owner Graham Flint found that his old domestic washing machine was just not up to the job. He has now replaced it with one of Samsung’s new professional washing machines.
“We needed something to give us more capacity but didn’t want to have a major disruption while it was installed,” says Graham Flint. “What attracted us to the new Samsung machine was its bigger drum, it plugs into a 13 Amp socket and it could use the existing plumping we had for the old machine, even down to the drainage. That meant it fitted perfectly into our workroom.”
Samsung’s new range of professional laundry equipment features ecobubble™ technology, which can reduce energy consumption by up to 70% compared to conventional washers. The ecobubble system generates bubbles before the wash cycle begins, by dissolving detergent in air and water. The detergent then penetrates fabric more quickly, evenly and deeply, which means operators can wash with colder water and still achieve perfectly clean results saving both energy and money.
“The quality of the wash is really good,” says Graham Flint. “It’s superior to other machines we looked at. We also needed something robust, as the machine has to do about 30 loads a week. It’s in operation every day Monday through to Saturday.”
The drum size is another important factor, with a weight capability of 14kg it’s far bigger than Express Dry Cleaner’s previous machine. Graham Flint finds they can wash either two single duvets or a double one without any problems. Mostly the machine is used for sheets and shirts.
“We couldn’t find anything else comparable for the price on the market,” says Graham Flint. “Other machines of that size and spec were really expensive. The Samsung machine came just within our budget and it does the job we need it to.”
Francis & Co supplied the machine to Express Dry Cleaners from stock so were able to carry out the installation and commissioning without delay.
