Time saving technology on Samsung Professional Laundry’s latest dryers takes on big loads

Tumble drying is a notorious energy-eater. Samsung’s new professional range of dryers, designed for a variety of commercial markets such as hospitality, hair and beauty salons and care homes, offers significant energy savings, as well as saving time and resources.

Samsung’s DV431 tumble dryer has a capacity of 240 litres which enables large amounts of laundry to be loaded at once, including bedding. Despite their size and innovative features, the Samsung units have list prices up to 60% less than similarly sized competitors’ machines.

Samsung has tackled the energy consumption issue through features such as axial airflow, which directs air through the load from the back to the front - the most efficient way to dry, reducing energy use by around 25% compared to radial airflow systems. The dryer’s RMC (residual moisture control) feature minimises drying time by turning off power as soon as the operator’s desired level of dryness is reached.

The ‘Wrinkle Release’ programme reduces wrinkles from laundry items that are clean and dry but slightly wrinkled, such as clothes that have been left in the dryer too long after the cycle has ended. Saving staff time as less ironing is required.

The DV431 dryer cares for woollen garments in a safe and gentle way without worry of shrinkage or pilling. The dryer has a mixed load alarm which sounds for 5 seconds while continuing to perform the cycle to alert staff to take out sensitive items when the average dry level is damp dry, meaning items are 80% dry, minimising damage and shrinkage.

Other features include an interior drum light making loading and unloading easier and a LED signal to warn when the filter needs cleaning. A drying rack is supplied with every dryer, designed to dry items such as footwear, toys and delicate woollen items, in a static position rather than having them tumbling around the drum. The dryer is also stackable with the Samsung washing machine to minimise footprint.

The range is available in the United Kingdom through Francis & Co, via a national network of distributors and laundry equipment specialists. Samsung is one of the world's largest brands. Samsung Professional Appliances distributes throughout Europe. All products are backed by a full parts & labour warranty.
